History
StevCom our trade name is a derivative of our registered business name Stevens Communication Pty Ltd. The Company started in August 1993 as a sole trading partnership between our current Director and his wife Karin.
Based in the family home in country Victoria the partnership traded as TJ and KM Stevens and provided support services for existing Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) to the local business and residential community.
Demand for services increased rapidly, and it quickly became apparent that the fledging business would need a franchise of its own to provide a reliable replacement for the communities aging CPE.
In September 1994 TJ &KM Stevens was appointed as authorised dealers for Siemens Ltd, with this new association and appointment as Telstra Fixed net dealers Stevens Telephone and Data services was born. This name more clearly reflecting the Products and Services of the business and helps promote us to the wider community.
The new relationship gave us a new reliable product line to offer our customers as alternative to existing CPE, resulting in strong growth over the following four years, seeing Stevens telephone and data service widen in client base throughout south west Victoria. This widening customer base encouraged the addition of CCTV and security systems to our portfolio during this time.
By March 1999 the business had out grown the old partner structure and Stevens Communications was formed. The company was now operating throughout Western Victoria, Geelong, Melbourne and had formed business alliances with commercial building contractors and were now winning contracts to cable and provide Voice/IT, CCTV, security and public address for many major building projects- a service that continues today.
By 2000 the company business had not only expanded but so had the workforce. With four full time staff and administration support the company was moving from strength to strength with customers across four states.
In 2003 the continuing evolution of our company, our image was changed to compliment the state of the art technology and services that was now being provided by our enthusiastic staff- StevCom was born. Today StevCom provides a national service via eight full time staff and an Australia wide sub dealer network. The evolution continues…………………
